Tiffany Orem
Champion Team Department Leader • Slumber Party Coordinator

Hello! I'm Tiffany and I am from Clarksville, IN. I started working at Champion Gymnastics in 1999. I was a gymnast at Southern Indiana Gymnastics for 15 years. As a Level 9 gymnast, I qualified to National Championships and as a Level 10 gymnast, I qualified to Regional Championships.

I have coached many State, Regional and National Champions. In 2009, I coached the Level 10 National Beam Champion, Erica Brewer, who also was 3rd in the All Around at Level 10 Nationals, made the J.O. National Team and qualified to be apart of the Region 5 All Star Team. Also in 2009, I coached the Level 9 Regional Bar, Beam, Floor and All Around Champion and in 2004 I coached the Level 9 National All Around Champion! I was voted Kentucky Optional Coach of the Year in 2006 and the Region 5 Rookie Coach of the Year in 2004.

I graduated in May of 2004 with a Degree in Excercise Science from the University of Louisville.

 

Scott Austin
Compulsory Department Leader

Hello! I’m Scott and I am from Seymour, Indiana. I began working at Champion Gymnastics in 1997. I am currently the Compulsory Gymnastics Department Leader and coach both compulsory and optional teams.

I also choreograph floor routines for Optional gymnasts and cut music. I have coached many Tops National Qualifiers, was named Champion Coach of the Year in 2003 and 2008 and was voted Region 5 Rookie Coach of the Year in 2004.

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from Ball State University.

 

Louise Harpole
Girls Level 7 and 8 Team Coach • Pre-School Instructor

Louise is from Louisville, Kentucky.
She began working for Champion Gymnastics in 1995 and at All About Kids in 2002. She currently is our Level 7/8 Head Coach and teaches morning preschool classes. She has had extensive coaching experience with competitive teams. In her career she has coached many state champions with undefeated seasons and many regional qualifiers.
Louise competed for many years at Louisville Gymnastics and Champion Gymnastics, when it was J-Town Gymnastics, and retired as a Level 9.
In addition to coaching, Louise works sleepovers at All About Kids and is in charge of the Super Bowl Challenge.
 

Jackie Kelly
Girls Level 1 - 4 Coach

Hello! I’m Jackie and I am from Syracuse, New York. I have been teaching here at All About Kids/Champion Gymnastics since 2003 teaching pre-school, recreational and competitive teams as well as birthday parties and open gyms.

I was a competitive gymnast for eight years. As a gymnast I reached level 8. I was also a cheerleader for Jeffersontown High School.

I am safety certified and nationally and state certified as an emergency medical technician. In my spare time I love to play sports, read and play the piano.

 

Michelle Putzig
Girls Level 4 Team Coach

 

Hello! I’m Michelle and I began working at Champion Gymnastics in 2006 as the “Mother” of the group! Other than being a full time mom, I am also a substitute teacher at Norton Elementary.

My daughter, Emily, was a gymnast at Champion Gymnastics and my son Trevor loves basketball and baseball. I was a gymnast and cheered for six years “back in the day”- we won’t mention any dates!

I currently have a Level 5/6 Judging Accreditation and National Safety Certification. I began judging in Region 5 in 2005.

I am happy to be in the gym striving to get every talented little girl excited about the great sport of gymnastics!

 

Leah Bosworth
Girls Level 6 Team Coach

Hello! My name is Leah and I am from Louisville, KY. I started here at AAK in 2008. I was a competitive gymnast for 13 years. I was the Level 5 KY State Vault Champion in 1994. I qualified to Level 8 regionals in 1995, and finished my career as a level 9 gymnast in 1999.

I have been coaching compulsory and optional level gymnasts on and off for the past four years. Here at AAK, I help coach the compulsory level gymnasts at the Team gym, and I am also the Special Events Coordinator. I handle birthday parties, field trips and camps!

I graduated from the University of Louisville in May 2004 with a bachelor of arts in communication and minor in psychology

. My favorite thing is playing with my son. I also enjoy reading, watching TV and hanging out with friends.

 

Patty Murrer
Girls Level 5 Team Coach

Patty is from Painesville, Ohio.
Prior to coaching, Patty was a level 10 gymnast, a member of the UofL Gymnastics Team and a Collegiate All-American.
Patty has an extensive coaching background. She started the competitive gymnastics program at SIGS in 1982, coached at Champion Gymnastics from 1995-2000, has coached pre-team through elite and has coached over 50 State, Regional and National Champions. She is currently working with the level 5 team.
She has a Bachelors Degree in Business from U of L and works full time as a Pharmaceutical Representative for Astrazeneca.
In her spare time she enjoys playing tennis for USTA. She has two daughters, Ashley and Abby (a former Champion gymnast).
 

Jim Langston
Boy's Recreational and Team Department Leader

Jim is from Shelbyville, KY and joined the Champion Gymnastics coaching staff in 2000. He currently coaches boys recreational and competitive gymnastics. Jim is a former Bandsman in the United States Army, and has a Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems from Western Kentucky University. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his wife, Page and his 3 children, all of whom are gymnasts at Champion, Christine, Delaney, and McCauley.
 

Jason Button
Boy's Team Director • Future Stars Team Coach

Jason is from Louisville, KY and is new to Champion (2007).
He has 12 plus years of teaching and coaching experience pre-school age through level 10 and elite. He’s started several successful program both in and out of the state of Ky. Many State championship titles as well as a handful of kids that have received perfect 10’s in competition.
As coaching Gymnastics is not enough, Jason also devotes time to teaching Spanish for Los Monitos and he still manages to compete as a floor and vault specialist from time to time!
Jason’s unique blend of technical ability and artistry make him stand out as both a coach and a competitor.
At Champion Gymnastics, Jason understands that boys will be boys and he’ll stop at nothing to ensure their energy is channeled into successful gymnastics building both self esteem and physical ability.
 

Matt Cohen
Boys Developmental • Optional & Compulsory Coach • Girl's Team Optional Coach

Matt is from Southern California where he began gymnastics at age five and began competing at age 6. As a Jr. athlete he was on the Region 1 team six times, as well as a California State all-around champion and a member of the USA Junior National Team.

Upon Graduation from HighSchool and clinching a State all-around victory he accepted a scholarhip to Penn State University where he helped lead the team to two national championship titles and ended his carrear there receiving the Nissen-Emery award.

He retired from competitive gymnastics in April of 2007 (though he's been seen around the gym fliping and flaring). He then married and moved to Louisville where both he and his wife attend the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He began working for Champion Gymnastics in the January of 2007 where his life-long passion to gymnastics is evident by the exuberance he puts into his coaching!

 

Brandon Satterly
Boys Team • Recreational Coach

Brandon is from Louisville, Kentucky.
Brandon is currently a senior in high school, planning on attending college as a theatre major.
He has taught boys gymnastics at All About Kids for over a year.
In his spare time, Brandon enjoys poetry, acting and playing the guitar.
